Create an Image of an Expert In 7 Easy Steps

How does one eat an elephant? (The entire ELEPHANT?!?) The standard response to that question is, “Only one bite at a time!” The right way to complete any large task has basically the same answer, “One step at a time.” Taken altogether, it may be formidable. Break it down into its elements, into small bite-sized pieces, and those really don’t look formidable?n any way. Your specific steps can each be relatively simple, something that’s no big problem, that you can do. And when you have all of them done, why, you find that you have accomplished your whole large task. It is the same with how you can be seen as an expert. Here are 7 simple steps that one could take to become an expert, rapidly!

Step 1. Read most important books of your industry. Make notes. This will mean that you need to know what’s going on in your industry. If you don’t do this or neglect it, you could expect problems with doing anything else.

Step 2. Prepare a free lecture and give it to some students. This step is important because it will help you access other, more influential people ).

Step 3. Make a website showing you as an expert. Put there your video, and write some articles basing on what you’ve learned in point 1.. This means that you’re active player in your chosen field. Additionally, it means that you become a sort of public figure.

Step 4. Write to magazines and online portals that are involved in your field, and offer to write free for them. This may require some work of researching, writing, and talking to redactors, but it will pay off.

Step 5. Apply to give a lecture on some of your industry conferences. Again, make sure someone is recording your presentation. A key point you will want to remember here is going to be to say something really interesting. This shouldn’t be the same stuff you said to students. This is going to be much more demanding audience. The reason this will be significant is if your lecture would turn into failure, everyone would see it.

Step 6. Now do something big – found a new organization like foundation or association. If you’ll do this, you’ll get even more authority and even media attention. And that leads us to the next step….

Step 7. Offer yourself as on-demand-expert for mainstream media journalists. Contact them, tell who you are (tell about things from previous points) and tell if they need information they can call you. Great! Now you’re almost there! Don’t forget, they way others see you is in your hands (and in your website, foundation, and journalist contacts).

As you take the steps explained above, the large elephant-problem you had is going to be “eaten up” one step at a time, “devoured” and dealt with. You’ll complete your project, succeed and then take pleasure in the benefits and fruits of accomplishment and victory! Congratulations on your triumph! You undertook a tremendous challenge, overcame it and won, taking one step at a time!
