GEOGRID is a sheet that can be used to improve the strength of the ground structure. When combined with a specified gravel pavement, the geogrid interlocks with the rocks, thereby spreading the tension from the load over it more extensively and reducing the pavement thickness, when compared to not using geogrid.
In geogrid road construction it can be applied on soft soil with new pavement breakage of a certain size, and if the ground is essentially soft clay would be better if combined with geotextile under geogrid. Installing geogrid using a new break above it makes the geogrid work more effectively in spreading the voltage so that the ground base is able to withstand larger loads. Generally the geogrid used in this construction is Polypropylene Biaxial Geogrid type.
In the case of slope protection, it can use geogrid formed in a layer-by-layer manner and use good urug material and good compacting, allowing the geogrid layer to bypass the outline, so that the cliff / slope can become more stable according to the design we want. In avalanche protection generally geogrid used is Polyester Uniaxial Geogrid.
Geogrid can be used in stock pile construction, where the geogrid works to expand the voltage spread, so that the bottom ground is able to withstand the planned load. Generally the geogrid used in this construction is Polypropylene Biaxial Geogrid type
Based on the form and function, Geogrid consists of two kinds, namely Geogrid Biaxial and Uniaxial. Biaxial geogrid is a geogrid type used as a stabilizing or strengthening material in soft base soils, such as in swamp, mud and peat areas. The way the biaxial geogrid works is interlocking (locking the aggregate) so that the heap layers that are on it are more rigid then the load distribution becomes more evenly distributed. The function of the biaxial geogrid is as a basic soil stabilization material and prevents the occurrence of differential settlement (reducing local) so that reducing maintenance costs This type of geogrid can also reduce the base or sub base base by up to 60% thus saving the cost of project implementation. Uniaxial geogrid is used in soil reinforcement applications,
Know the Benefits Geogrid retaining wall, slope stabilization and embankment on soft soil. Uniaxial geogrid can provide reinforcement slope reinforcement system so it can build taller and more upright in restricted areas.
Geogrid relies on high tensile strength and low creep elongation, for the case of avalanche geogrid placed on the soil layer, dumped and compacted layer by layer so as to maintain and stabilize the soil by distributing it to tensile strength. Geogrid resembles a net which can provide reinforcement slope reinforcement in order to build taller and more upright in a restricted area
